What is Amoxicillin/Clavulanate?
Amoxicillin/Clavulanate is a combination antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It pairs a penicillin-type antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor to tackle bacteria that would otherwise resist treatment. It was developed to handle a wider range of infections than amoxicillin alone.

How Does It Work?
Amoxicillin works by breaking down the cell walls of bacteria, causing them to die. Clavulanic acid blocks the enzymes that some bacteria use to destroy amoxicillin. Together, they cover a broader range of bacterial infections more effectively.
What It's Used For
- Chest and lung infections, including pneumonia and bronchitis
- Ear, nose, and throat infections such as sinusitis and tonsillitis
- Skin, urinary tract, and dental infections caused by susceptible bacteria
What to Expect
Most people start to feel better within a few days of starting the course. It is important to complete all 7 capsules even if symptoms improve early. Stopping early can allow the infection to return or become resistant.
Possible Side Effects
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea — most common, especially on an empty stomach
- Skin rash or itching — stop use and seek advice if severe
- Thrush (yeast overgrowth) in the mouth or genitals due to disruption of normal bacteria
Cycle & Dosage Notes
This is a 7-day antibiotic course — take one capsule twice daily with food to reduce stomach upset. Do not take more than prescribed or extend the course without medical advice. This product is not used in cycles and has no PCT or stacking considerations.
